Bitcoin Exchange Flows Above 1 BTC Drop From 80K to 27.5K BTC Globally Amid Price Bounce
Bitcoin exchange inflows above 1 BTC fell to 27.5K from 80K as BTC held $73,981 support, signaling tighter supply.
Bitcoin exchange flows above 1 BTC have dropped sharply across major platforms, even as price trades near recent highs.
Market data shows fewer “wholecoiner” transfers reaching exchanges than in past cycles. At the same time, derivatives positioning and the daily chart suggest Bitcoin still holds short-term strength.

Wholecoiner Exchange Flows Continue to Fall
Recent market data shows a steady decline in transfers of at least 1 BTC to exchanges. On Binance, the monthly average now stands near 6,000 BTC. That figure is far below the 15,400 BTC seen in 2021.
Global exchange flows show the same pattern. Transfers above 1 BTC now sit near 27,500 BTC worldwide. That compares with about 80,000 BTC at the 2018 peak.
Bitcoin wholecoiner flows drop sharply across exchanges
Wholecoiners, meaning investors holding at least 1 full $BTC, are becoming increasingly rare over time, largely due to the continuous appreciation of Bitcoin’s price.

Rising Bitcoin prices may explain part of the decline. Holding a full coin has become harder for many investors over time. That changes how much supply can move to exchanges.
Market structure has also changed. Investors now have more ways to gain Bitcoin exposure without holding spot BTC. ETFs and broader platform access have added new entry points.
Derivatives Data Shows Cautious Positioning
Bitcoin derivatives data shows traders still lean defensive across major exchanges. Binance long-to-short accounts stand at 0.7969. OKX BTC long-to-short accounts stand at 0.95.
Binance top trader accounts show a 0.8355 ratio. Binance top trader positions stand at 0.8983. Readings below 1 mean shorts still outnumber longs.

Liquidation data shows a mixed but useful picture. In the last hour, total liquidations reached $1.56 million. Short liquidations made up $1.24 million of that figure.
The four-hour data shows a similar pattern. Total liquidations reached $3.26 million, with $2.60 million from shorts. That points to upward price pressure squeezing bearish positions.
The 12-hour window showed more long liquidations than short liquidations. Yet the 24-hour view still showed shorts losing $92.18 million. Long liquidations totaled $41.15 million over that period.

Daily Chart Keeps Bullish Structure in Focus
Bitcoin traded near $74,357 on the daily chart while holding above key trend lines. The chart shows a recovery from the sharp February decline. Price has built stronger highs and stronger lows since then.
The Alligator indicator remains in a bullish order. Its green line sits near $72,502, while the red line stands near $71,541. The blue line sits near $70,796.
Price also moved above the $73,981 area. That level now acts as an important support zone. If Bitcoin stays above it, the breakout remains active.

Momentum also stays positive on the daily timeframe. The MACD line remains above the signal line, and the histogram stays green. That supports the current upward trend, though the move is not yet aggressive.
The next resistance levels sit near $76,095 and $78,210. Support below current price stands near $72,502 and $71,541. A deeper pullback could test $70,796 or $69,751.
Taken together, the data points to a market with lower exchange supply and cautious derivatives positioning. The price trend still favors buyers while support holds. Traders now watch whether Bitcoin can stay above $73,981 and extend the move higher.
