Are the Bitcoin Wallets Safe?

The safest option is a hardware wallet, which is kept offline, in a safe place. That way, there is no risk of your account getting hacked, of losing your keys, or that the Bitcoins get extracted; but if you lose the wallet, the bitcoins are gone, unless you created a clone and/or keep reliable security backups of your keys.

The least secure option is an online wallet since a third party holds the keys. But it is the easiest to set up and use, and this presents an all-too-familiar decision: convenience versus security.
